illuminated by transmitted light.
This forensic comparison microscope is commonly used in forensics for examining hair, stains, glass fragments, animal and human tissue, plant materials, insects, insect larvae, fibres, translucent replicates and other materials. It is also widely used in archaeology, botany, entomology, micropalaeontology and other
collections & artefact identification studies.
The microscope is supplied complete with 2 pairs of eyepieces for the binocular head and 4 objectives sets for each microscope turret giving an
overall magnification range of 40X – 1600X (to eyepieces), sufficient to encompass the most demanding examination tasks.
Each forensic comparison microscope is fitted with a slide holder, mechanical stage movement controls, a 1.25NA condenser mounted on a rack and pinion, 20W adjustable intensity halogen light source. The stages have a usable area of 140x140mm and the focusing system includes coaxial course and fine focus knobs and focus limit levers ideal for teaching environments.
The two microscope stands are optically linked via a ‘bridge’. The bridge manages the viewing properties of the system and includes a viewing control knob that allows you to select which microscope view, an adjustable split view between the comparison microscopes and a
merge function.
Cameras and camera adapters are optional accessories, both video and high resolution digital cameras are available.
