To help you select a suitable microscope, here are some recommendations from our product range.
Where magnifications are shown, these are for the standard microscope. These can be extended with some add on objectives.
Upright Materials Microscopes-
These upright microscopes all have reflected illumination which has a polariser. This can help reduce reflections from shiny metallic surfaces.
L2003. This is our best value materials microscope. This has a magnification range of 50x-600x and has reflected illumination with a polariser.
L3230. This is a high quality materials microscope. This has a magnification range of 50x-500x and has both reflected illumination with a polariser and transmitted illumination. This makes it suitable for just about any type of sample.
ICM100. This is a specialised microscope for the detailed imaging of large and unusually shaped samples. This is basically an upright materials microscope head on a pillar stand. This has a magnification range of 50x-800x and has reflected illumination with a polariser.
Leica DM750M. This is a high specification materials microscope. This can have a large range of options so can be configured for a wide number of applications.
Digital Materials Microscopes-
UltraMZ-0460. This is a high optical quality monozoom body with a microscope camera. This is ideal for routine checking of components, as the user simply has to place the sample under the microscope and see the image on the screen.
Leica Emspira-3. A high specification digital microscope, complete with software for taking measurements of the sample.
Stereo Materials Microscopes-
These microscopes are all available on a range of different stands- track stands, boom arm stands, articulated arm stands, so they can be optimised for a large range of different samples. They are available with binocular or trinocular heads.
UltraZOOM-1. Our best value stereomicroscope with a zoom range of 7x-45x.
NexiusZoom EVO. This is a good optical quality stereomicroscope with a magnification range of 6.5x-55x.
Leica S9. An excellent stereo microscope for detailed inspection applications. This microscope has some clever optics called FusionOptics- these give a combination of high resolution and a large depth of field. This has a magnification range of 6.1x-55x.
