Metallurgy Microscopes

Metallurgy microscopes are specialised instruments equipped with incident (reflected) light, directing illumination through the objective onto polished, reflective samples such as metals, ceramics, composites, and polymers. These microscopes reveal critical material features and are commonly used for grain sizing, inclusion counts, layer thickness assessment, phase determination, and examining particles on filters. Most models include polarised light, filters, and a camera port for imaging and analysis, with options for darkfield and DIC to enhance contrast on challenging specimens.

Our range includes three main types of metallurgical microscopes: upright models with objectives above the sample (the most common choice), inverted models for viewing larger specimens, and semiconductor systems with large stages designed to accommodate full wafers.
