GXM Microscope Eyepiece Tube : C-Mount Adjustable Camera Adapter 0.50 x

0974 0.45 x C-Mount Eyepiece Adapter, to fit eyepiece tube with inner diameter of 23.2 mm.  

You can use this type of adapter to attach any ‘c-mount’ microscope camera to:

1)  The eyepiece tube of any microscope (see notes below on eyepiece tube diameters)

2)  A trinocular headed microscope which has a photoport which has an internal diameter of 23.2mm.

To select an adapter:

1)  Look up the magnification required according to your camera sensor size (see note on MAGNIFICATIONS below)

2)  Measure the internal diameter of your tube

3)  If greater than 23.2mm you will need, in addition, a ‘diameter conversion adapter’ (see notes below on eyepiece tube diameters)

To use this adapter:

1)  Screw the threaded end of the adapter into the c-mount of you camera

2)  If you are attaching it to an eyepiece tube remove an eyepiece (if any) and insert the assembly.

3)   If you are attaching it to a 23.2mm phototube simply insert the assembly into the tube

It takes just seconds to attach/detach.

Eyepiece tube diameters

The above adapter can be used when an eyepiece is removed, the adapter replaces the eyepiece.  Once removed the internal diameter of the eyepiece tube is likely to be one of four standard sizes:

• 23.2mm
• 30mm
• 30.5mm
• 31.75mm

The adapter has a diameter of 23.1mm.  It will fit the 23.2mm dimeter tube perfectly.

To fit it into any of the larger diameters a ‘diameter conversion adapter’ is required.  There are sizes corresponding to each of the tube diameters.  These simply fill the space and ensure a snug fit. See the accessories section. We stock all 3 standard larger sizes as listed above

If you have used a ‘diameter conversion adapter’ you should be aware that the camera adapter will be viewing a smaller area of the centre of the image coming from the microscope and it will give you a commensurately magnified view to the camera.

Microscope Eyepiece Tube : C-Mount Fixed Camera Adapter MAGNIFICATIONS

An adapter is equipped with a series of lenses which are available in different magnifications, typically:

• 0.37X
• 0.45X
• 0.5X
• 0.75X

You should select the magnification you need according to the size of the sensor in your c-mount camera.

• 0.37X for 1/3rd inch sensors or below
• 0.45X or 0.5X for 1/2 inch sensors
• 0.75X for larger than 1/2 inch sensors​

Adjustable or Fixed Adapters

Adjustable adapters have the advantage that they can assist the user to achieve parfocality so that the eyepiece and the camera image are in focus at the same time.  They are most useful when mounted onto a photoport.
