Description

Perform demanding inspection tasks with the durable GX Microscopes L3030 metallurgical microscope.

If you’re searching for a reasonably priced materials microscope that will withstand daily use for a number of years, the L3030 is the microscope for you. The ‘workhorse’ within our range, its solid metal frame is designed to last, whilst the user-friendly, simple ‘non fussy’ design ensures an equally friendly price tag.

The GX Microscopes L3030 metallurgical microscope is equipped with a trinocular head ready for the attachment of a camera. Adding a camera opens the opportunity to capture images or videos and perform measurements of your sample. This microscope includes a full set of high quality plan achromatic materials objectives, providing a clear, focused image of the sample across the full field of view at magnifications from 50x – 500x.

Features:

  • 50x – 500x magnification.
  • Incident (reflected) and transmitted (base) illumination is provided from integral LED illuminator lamps with adjustable intensity.
  • A mechanical stage with ergonomically positioned controls for XY movement.
  • Coarse and fine focus control with ergonomically positioned focus knobs.
  • The focussing tension can be adjusted and a focus lock protects the objectives from damage.
  • Adjustable field and aperture diaphragms ensure the microscope can be set up for optimal image quality.
  • Includes a rotatable polariser to minimise glare from reflective surfaces, plus a set of yellow, green, blue and diffusion filters.
  • This microscope is built on GX Microscopes’ popular and highly robust L3000 series elegant microscope frame which provides high stability and a durable platform suitable for the most demanding of applications.
  • Options include a range of camera adapters, digital cameras, image analysis software, additional objectives and eyepieces.

Reflected and transmitted Köhler illumination for optimum image quality and flexibility

The L3030 is equipped with an adjustable field diaphragm and iris diaphragm, allowing the microscope to be setup accurately for Köhler illumination. This ensures the highest possible image quality and makes the most of the system’s fully plan achromatic optics. Its two lamps provide both reflected and transmitted illumination, suitable for viewing a wide range of samples.

Reduced glare from reflective surfaces

Due to the nature of the samples viewed under a metallurgical microscope, many of the sample surfaces are highly reflective which can cause glare through to the eyepieces. This is exaggerated further when viewing the sample through a camera. The built-in rotatable polariser and diffuser filter on the L3030 both act to minimise this glare.
